The ASUM Community Garden is one of the oldest community gardens in Missoula. The organizers of the garden started it in a different spot on campus before Garden City Harvest came to be. The beloved garden is now a part of the Associated Students of the University of Montana (ASUM), included in their bylaws and used by students, faculty, alumni and community members. It's a place where students and community members get to know each other - sharing gardening techniques, plant starts, and a sense of community.
The garden “promotes a community atmosphere of caring for our home (Earth) and each other.”
this garden is a steal—good soil, high fences, and free water!!!The work was hard at times, but there’s peace in it too, the chance to contemplate…It communicates the message of exuberance, exhilaration for what is all around us.
