Community Garden News: Volunteer Opportunities this Fall


Community Garden Closing Day is Saturday, October 26th—exactly one month away and we’re gearing up to close the gardens down for the season.  Many hands make for light work and we could use a few extra!  Here are some weekend volunteer opportunities coming up this fall…

Sunday, September 29th 12-2pm – Northside Community Garden.  Building and planting a new and improved community raspberry patch.

Saturday, October 5th 10:30-12:30 – Meadow Hill Community Garden.  Meadow Hill Community Gardeners and the UofM Office of Civic Engagement will be tidying the community garden and building new garden plots for 2014.

Saturday, October 26th 12pm-3pm – Northside Community Garden.  Northside Community Gardeners and Food Day volunteers will be working together to clean out abandoned plots and get the garden ready to close for the winter

Sunday, October 27th (time TBD) – Garden of Eaton.  Community Gardeners and church volunteers will be cleaning out abandoned plots and getting the garden ready for winter.
