Community Gardens - fall Internship

This internship offers experience working at a multi-faceted community nonprofit, allowing them to gain practical experience in the workplace, in Missoula’s local food system, and in community efforts to grow food. The intern will assist Community Gardens staff with the installation of a new community garden in East Missoula. The intern will also help with seasonal garden maintenance and community engagement efforts at the 11 existing community garden sites.

Hours: 10 - 20 hours per week, mid- August - early November 2024; scheduling is flexible Monday through Friday between 8 am and 5 pm; occasional evening or weekend work.

Benefits: equivalent of a small CSA share of fresh veggies in season, academic credit available to students. 

Stipend: $1,000.

Mobile Market Operator

Garden City Harvest’s Mobile Market brings seniors with limited income access to produce and social interaction by setting up a pop-up market stand at four senior living facilities around Missoula. Each week, a team of two will pick up produce from the PEAS Farm, drive to each site, set-up, staff, and tear down each market. We sell the Mobile Market produce at an affordable rate and customers may use special vouchers to access produce.

Hours: Every Tuesday, 12:30 - 7:00pm from June 11 through August 27, 2024 for a total of 78 hours

Wages: $16/hour. This is a temporary position.
