  • Come prepared to work hard and get dirty – you’ll be weeding, planting, harvesting, veggie washing, and more weeding.

  • Bring water, sunscreen, snacks, and close-toed shoes. If you have a wide-brimmed hat and gloves, bring those too!

  • Hours vary, but generally are held Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.

School Gardens

There are open Garden Hours at each school garden site June - August. Click HERE to find the Open Garden Hours at each site.

Volunteer for Veggies

Based from our River Road, Orchard Gardens, and Youth Farm Neighborhood Farms, we offer veggies for corresponding hours worked on our farms.

When: available May-September, Monday through Friday.

Scheduling is flexible, just call the farmers below to work out a day and time.

Volunteer for Veggies regulars are essential to our work. We could not raise and harvest the food we do for the Poverello, Soft Landing, Missoula Food Bank and many other partners without their help.

Learn about farming and gardening while you work: We encourage you to set up a regular schedule with your farm. You will work closely with the farmers while you are with us, and will learn about growing food in Missoula. Bring questions, dig in, and grow.
