Join Steffany Rogge with the Missoula County Weed District to have a fun, informative discussion on the prevention, treatment, and possible uses of the gardener’s greatest nemesis: weeds. This workshop will start with the basics of identifying new or reoccurring unwelcome plants to better understand effective methods of control. We will discuss prevention strategies and non-toxic treatment options, and learn from each others experiences.

This workshop will take place at the River Road Farm and Community Garden which provides the opportunity to look at weeds at both a farm and garden scale. Bring your weeds along for identification (in a plastic bag to prevent the spread of seeds!) so we can all learn and commiserate together, because weeding does not always have to be a solemn job!

Steffany is the Education Coordinator for the Missoula County Weed District where she delivers programs that are both practical and humorous, because life it too short to worry too much about weeds! She is excited to have a 2.5-acre garden to call her office in the spring of next year at the Missoula Fairgrounds where she will be able to talk to everyone about native plants!
