Workshop: Weed ID & Management

  • Providence Community Garden 206 North 2nd Street West Missoula, MT, 59802 United States (map)

workshop details

Join us in the garden to have a fun, informative discussion on the prevention, treatment, and possible uses of the gardener’s greatest nemesis: weeds.

This workshop will start with the basics of identifying new or reoccurring unwelcome plants to better understand effective methods of control. We will discuss the timing and tools important to tackling your weeds effectively.

This workshop will take place at the Providence Community Garden. Bring your weeds along for identification (in a plastic bag to prevent the spread of seeds!) so we can learn and commiserate together!

about the instructors

Steffany Rogge is the Education Coordinator for the Missoula County Department of Ecology and Extension where she delivers programs that are both practical and humorous, because life it too short to worry too much about weeds!

Alexandra Brown instructs workshops both in the kitchen and garden, and facilitates our workshop series as the Community Education Coordinator. From apprenticing with a Master Preserver to working on several farms, she knows her way around the kitchen and garden!
