WORKSHOP: Grow Your Own Microgreens

  • Garden City Harvest 1657 River Road Missoula United States (map)

workshop description

Grow your own mini-veggies all year round!  Join University of Montana Campus Dining Gardens Manager Stasia Orkwiszewski to learn how to grow microgreens at home.

Did you know that microgreens can be grown from the seeds of a wide variety of vegetables? With only a few simple materials, you can add a nutritious, delicious punch to your meals!  We will discuss the simplest DIY methods as well as more advanced growing techniques.

With Missoula’s short growing season, microgreens can keep the fresh food flowing throughout the year!

about the instructor

Stasia has loved digging in the dirt since she was small while helping out on her grandparents’ hobby farm. Since then, she has studied environmental education, traditional ecological knowledge in the Peace Corps, and worked on farms around western Montana. She has managed the University of Montana Campus Dining Gardens for seven years and is excited to share what she’s learned through experimentation and being attentive to a place.
